How much deposit do I pay on booking? When is the full balance due?We have 2 payment options, via our website booking system. -Pay 50% deposit on booking. The remaining 50% balance is then auto debited on the morning of your arrival. After payment is successfully taken, arrival details (with key box code, etc.) are then texted to the booker. -Pay 100% balance on booking. This gives 10% off the main tariff. Both options are subject to our attractive cancellation policy, whereby the booker does not lose any pre-paid amount, should you have to cancel. (for any reason, at any time) All bookings are completed via our website system. (Updated 18/06/24)

What is your cancellation policy? Do I get any pre-payment back if I have to cancel? We understand that unexpected events can & do occur, so our cancellation policy has evolved to be attractive to a prospective booker. Whilst a pre-payment is not refundable, it is fully transferable towards a future booking. Most local self-catering establishments don't offer a fully transferable option, regardless of cancellation circumstances / period, and will keep your deposit payment, at the very least. With very short-notice cancellation, (ie; just before arrival, when many cancellations occur) most establishments will keep your entire balance paid, which no refund or future credit forthcoming. Whilst we obviously hope you'll book your self-catering stay with us, if you do also look elsewhere, please always pay careful attention to their cancellation policy! Updated 30/04/23 Inchree Chalet's Cancellation Policy: In the event of you having to cancel your stay at Inchree, any pre-payment is non-refundable but fully transferable towards a future stay with us. It is the pre-payment that is transferable, not the booking. Any rescheduled booking is at the advertised tariff for new required dates. Cancellation can occur at any time prior to arrival. The time limit for usage of a credit is: Booker lives within Scotland: Up to 9 months from start date of cancelled stay. Booker lives within UK but outside Scotland: Up to 12 months from start of cancelled stay. Booker lives outwith UK: Up to 15 months from start of cancelled stay. If preferred the credit can also be transferred to somebody else in your circles, to use for a future stay. (A voucher can be provided if required.) Please note that due to the flexibility of the above policy, cancellation reason is not relevant to us. (Updated 30/04/24)

How far are you from Ben Nevis? How do I find the car parks for access to the mountain? The UK's highest mountain towers behind the tourism town of Fort William. From Inchree, it takes 20 minutes by car, to reach the start of the mountain path that ascends Ben Nevis's southern aspect. This starts from either the car park at the Glen Nevis visitor centre, (follow signs for Glen Nevis from town centre) or from the smaller car park opposite the Ben Nevis Inn. (involves brief drive through Claggan housing estate, turning down road next to Spar shop) It takes around 30 minutes by car, to reach the start of the mountain path on the north side of Ben Nevis, that provides access to it's vast north face. Drive fully out of Fort William on the A82 going north, and turn right at Torlundy. (Small sign of main road for 'North Face' car park. Drive up this road for around 500 metres, crossing a stone railway bridge, which is traffic-light controlled. 50 metres after the bridge, turn right down the forest track, (signposted 'Allt a Mhuilinn') and follow the track for approx. 1 km to car park.

How far are you from Glencoe? We are just a 10 minute drive from the western entrance to Scotland's most famous & spectacular glen / valley.

Are there any pubs & eateries within walking distance? There are several eateries of various types within walkingh distance, open at least during the high tourism season. (April to October) Closest to the chalets, ROAMWEST We're very lucky to have a super country pub & restaurant located just a 2 minute walk from the chalet doorstep. RoamWest is a long-established venue, with a cosy & atmospheric bar, and lovely dining room with central open fire. It's open on an evening for either drinks or dinner, with a locally-sourced menu served between April to October. Outwith these months, opening times and menu availabiltiy are a bit more limited. See their Social Media for current opening times and menu. Please note that despoite being close neighbours, RoamWest are a separate business to us. Please direct any meal enquiries to them, where they'll be happy to help. ARDGOUR ALES Ardgour Ales is a great brewery with heated beer tent, located on the other side of the Corran Narrows of Loch Linnhe. Their wide selection of craft ales have an excellent reputation. To get to it is a 5 minute walk from Inchree to the Corran Ferry slipway. Then a 5 minute crossing on the ferry to the Ardgour side. (Free if you're on-foot or cycling) Turn right after getting off the ferry and walk along the single-track roadside for 5 minutes, (taking in the super panoramic views of the Great Glen) and Ardgour Ales is on the left. You'll see their sandwich board at roadside. Their beer tent is open most nights, but please just check their website or Social Media for exact times. Ardgour Ales also do delicious pizzas every Friday night. Highly recommended. Please always pre-book pizza orders from their website. NOMAD CAFE Nomad is a quirky pop-up cafe located on the Ardgour side of the Corran Narrows. Take the Corran Ferry over Loch Linnhe, and their caravan is located directly opposite the slipway, in the car park of the Inn. For more info & to check opening, see their Social Media. Is there public transport nearby?Yes, the bus-stops on the A82 main road are just a short walk away. There are 2 bus services locally: Citylink Service: (From elsewhere in Scotland to here) Citylink are Scotland's national carrier, with daily services between Fort William and Glasgow / Skye / Oban & Inverness. You can also use Citylink for getting around locally, between Fort William & Glencoe. The closest bus-stops used for the Citylink services are Corran Ferry on the timetable. The northbound & southbound stops are a 5 minute walk northwards (in direction of Fort William) on the pavement by the A82 road. To find us after getting off at Corran Ferry stop: Walk south for approx. 150 metres until you get to a left-curving bend. (There is another, local bus-stop on this corner.) Cross the A82 to the other side at this corner. (Being careful as it is a blind bend for traffic) Now walk along the track for 200 metres, past a pub-restaurant called 'RoamWest', Just after RoamWest you will see our white reception building with 'Inchree Chalets' sign on the left. Important: The Citylink services are busy during main visitor season, Easter to October. Booking a seat is therefore recommended. Their buses generally only pull-in at the designated stops on the timetable. Always use the Corran Ferry stops for getting to and from Inchree. Local Bus Service, Sheil Buses: There is a local bus service that serves the Lochaber area, Sheil Buses. The timetable for the service that passes Inchree is route 44, (Fort William / Onich / Ballachulish & Kinlochleven) The stops nearest to Inchree you can use for Sheil Buses are: Southbound stop at A82 junction with Inchree road. Northbound stop on A82 at Bunree. (Located in front of RoamWest Pub & Rooms) Southbound & northbound stops at Corran Ferry. Getting to & from Glencoe by bus: Sheil Buses don't operate past Glencoe Village, so if you want to get further into Glencoe, you'd need to get a Citylink bus. (the Skye / Fort William to Glasgow service) Train: The nearest train station is Fort William, 7 miles to the north. From there, you'd have to get either a bus or taxi to us. Fort William doesn't have a bus station as such. The main area for catching buses is next to the Morrison's supermarket, where the bus stances are for all services going north and south, including Citylink. Walk out of the train station and Morrisons & bus stances are directly opposite. Taxis: There are lots of taxi firms in the Fort William / Lochaber area. We have no specific recommendations, so just Google; 'Fort William Taxis.' Taxis are generally expensive here, with a one-way trip from Inchree to Fort William being around £20+. (Updated 09/05/23)

Is there somewhere close where we can buy breakfast? There are several places locally where you can get breakfast. The closest is RoamWest Pub, just a 2 minute walk from the chalets. Between April to October you can get a decent continental breakfast buffet here. RoamWest inform us that pre-booking is not required for this - you can just turn up. See their Continental Breakfast Menu here. Across the Corran Ferry, (A 5 minute walk from Inchree, followed by a 5 minute free ferry ride across Corran Narrows) there is Nomad pop-up Cafe. You'll find their caravan directly across from the slipway, in a carpark, as you get off the ferry on the Ardgour side. You can get hot rolls here. Always check on their Facebook page that they're operating that day, before heading over. Ardgour Ales, also on the other side of the loch, offer hot rolls in the morning too. After getting off the ferry at Ardgour, turn right and walk along the lochside stretch of road for around 500 metres. You'll see their sandwich board on the roadside, with brewery & beer tent up on the left. All the above are outlets within walking distance from Inchree. Another place we can recommend for a decent, sit-down cooked breakfast, is the Quarry Cafe in Ballachulish, 6 miles south of Inchree. It's located within the tourist information centre, opposite the Co op shop. Please always check any opening times / availability directly with the establishment. (in particular between October to March) Usually their Social Media is the most up-to-date place to look. Your chalet also has a fully-equipped kitchen for self-catering, should you wish to prepare your own breakfast. Updated 24/05/24

I've heard about the midgies - what will they be like during my stay?Like beautiful landscapes & temperamental weather the midgie is synonymous with the Scottish Western Highlands! These annoying tiny insects are generally active around mid-May to mid-September, becoming more annoying as the months progress. They are generally active in the early morning and evening, although if you are out & about in wilder & boggier areas, they can be active all day. It is very difficult to give a prediction on how bad they shall be on a particular time, as their level of activity is dependent on many differing factors, such as weather, humidity, etc. They can be non-existent to very annoying from day to day. Unfortunately still and warm evenings (ie; the type of evening you would want to sit out in) can often be when they are most active! The chalets at Inchree are located in an elevated position, facing south-west towards the Firth of Lorne, so we often have a breeze through the site, which is the best thing from stopping them flying. We also actively chop back much of the low-growing vegetation during the summer months on our 3 acre site, which also helps to keep midgies at bay. It is worth noting that whilst annoying, midgie bites are generally harmless and at worst, are itchy for a short spell and give a few cosmetic red dots on your skin. Wearing lighter-coloured clothing when out does help, as midgies are attracted to darker colours. A repellent which appears to be quite popular now is Smidge. Updated 09/07/23
